Starting with a new construction home, some eclectic pieces of bedroom furniture, and a client passionate about color we set about to create a lavish personal space.
Mid-century was the furniture theme. The classic lines of the dresser and the tuxedo settee were offset by the modified keystone fabric headboard. All pieces were various shades of cream, beige, taupe, and gray. We extended the neutrals to the bed linens and the wall, but added dimension through texture and layers, such as a knitted wool blanket and silk-like wallpaper. To create a spacious feel to the room, we added wall to wall curtains and lighting. Note the fandelier, where form meets function. By day it is a crystal chandelier; by night retractable clear blades create a comfortable breeze. We balanced the tonal subtleties with deep purples, darker grays, gold accents and green foliage to give the room a sumptuous feel.
